Jennifer/Joanne,
I had to chuckle when I saw the images of the library and librarian in the past!
The librarians of today made some very valid points about supporting student learning;
- teaching students how to access what they need to know about a topic
- helping students develop keywords when researching
- libraries open doors to information
- utilizing graphic novels for reluctant readers
- introducing and developing the Big 6 format for research
- helping students with ‘trash and treasure’ when researching
What struck me at the end of this clip was the statement made from the original video with regards to the librarian, ‘Your work is vital and essential’ as this still applies to the librarian of today!

This would be a great video for educating staff on the evolving role of a TL and for demonstrating what can be done in terms of collaboration. Thanks, I’ll bookmark it!
