I recommend taking the time to listen to, and read more about, these two stories about online learning from NPR.

The first (of many) TL-DL posts
I have decided to try to blog on a regular basis about news, events, articles, blogs, wikis, podcasts, streaming video, etc., that I hope you will find useful. Please feel free to comment, email me with things you would like me to share or ask questions.I am listening to/watching a video debate between Will Richardson and Gary Stager – great if you have an hour to spare. I linked to it from David Warlick’s blog but you can also go directly from http://weblogged-tv.wikispaces.com/NYSCATEhttp://davidwarlick.com/2cents/ - this blog is worth following! There is also an interesting article in Multimedia and Internet@Schools – November/December 2007 – by Melinda George that is about online professional learning communities. Very interesting if you are interested in PD! It is available through Proquest Education Journals now.I hope you find the information here useful and I look forward to sharing news from the University, the Department of Elementary Education, and from the TL-DL world with you on a regular basis.
